How solar works on Brigham City Public Power
Brigham City Public Power is the city's own electric utility, and it buys its power through Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems. If your home or business is served by Brigham City Public Power, its solar rules apply instead of Rocky Mountain Power's.
Since August 18, 2022, Brigham City Public Power has used net billing for solar customers. It measures the energy flowing into your home from the grid and the energy flowing out of it. The power you use is sold at the same price as to every other residential customer, and the power your system sends back is credited at a separate rate.
Customers who were installed, or had a completed application, by August 18, 2022 were grandfathered under the earlier terms. A new system today goes on net billing, so we size it to how much of its power you'll use at home.
