How solar works on Kaysville's city power
Kaysville runs its own electric utility and is a member of Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems. If your home is served by Kaysville's Power Department, the city's Net Metering Policy applies instead of Rocky Mountain Power's rules.
The policy covers residential systems up to 15 kW DC. Your system connects through two meters, a production meter and a net meter. Energy you use is billed at the residential rate, and energy your system sends to the grid is credited at the city's residential solar rate each month.
The net metering agreement is between Kaysville City and the homeowner, and the policy allows no third parties. The City Council may adjust or end the program at any time, so we confirm the current terms before we quote.
